Fighting game for MS-DOS
FROM THE PAGES OF HISTORY BEGINS A CENTURY OF WAR.
In the days of China's Eastern Han Dynasty, the young emperor's power was
suppressed by an evil regent as traitorous eunuchs plunged the court into
chaos. The Han bloodline weakened, and the land was split amongst the strong.
It was a chaotic era when bones filled the fields and fires were seen for
thousands of miles. From the flames emerged the brilliant Cao Cao, the
warm-hearted Liu Bei, the wise Sun Quan, the powerful Lü Bu and the
tyrant Dong Zhuo. From beginnings both low and high, these men rose to power
in the third century to compete for the prize: the throne of China.
From the pages of history begins a century of war. The battle, one sure to
split the sky and break the earth, is now unstoppable...

ZHANG FEI |
Liu Bei fled to Jiangnan as Cao Cao's army entered Jing Province.
Cao Cao pursued him for a day and a night, and finally caught up to Liu Bei
at Changban in Dangyang. When Liu Bei heard that Cao Cao had arrived, he left
his wife and son behind and fled. Zhang Fei and twenty horsemen stayed behind
to fight. Zhang Fei used the river to cut off Cao Cao's pursuit and broke the
bridge. With a fiery stare he swung his spear and shouted, 'I am Zhang Fei!
Whoever comes to fight me comes to his death!' None of his enemies dared to
move.
Zhang Fei was born in Zhuo Province. As a youth, he served Liu Bei with
Guan Yu, whom he viewed as an elder brother. Under Cao Cao's command, Zhang
followed Liu Bei and defeated Lü Bu. When the heroes returned to Xu Du,
Cao Cao gave Zhang a position as a low-ranked general.
Zhang Fei began following Liu Bei in AD 184. His bravery and power in the many
battles were legendary among later generations. Cao Cao's strategists Cheng Yu
and Guo Jia once said, Zhang Fei and Guan Yu alone can fight off an army
of 10,000. Liu Hua called him the bravest man in the army.
Among his greatest accomplishments were forcing Cao Cao's army to retreat at
Changban Hill and besting Zhang Tai in tactics at Baxi. He was a fierce
general known across the land.
While he treated his skilled peers with respect, Zhang Fei often neglected and
punished more ordinary men. Liu Bei once warned him, You punish and whip
your soldiers far too much. After such a beating, you still keep them by your
side. Such abuse is bound to get you in trouble.
When Liu Bei was preparing a campaign against The Kingdom of Wu, Zhang planned
to take 10,000 men from Langzhong to Jiang Province to join Liu Bei's troops.
Before he could set off, two of his soldiers Zhang Da and Fan Jiang murdered
him. They cut off Zhang Fei's head and took it with them as they fled to
Sun Quan's territory. The watchman on duty in Zhang Fei's army immediately
reported their offense to Liu Bei, who could only sigh at the death of his
sworn brother.
It was sad that the brave warrior who could best 10,000 men did not die in
battle but at the hands of common rebels.
