FROM THE PAGES OF HISTORY BEGINS A CENTURY OF WAR.
In the days of China's Eastern Han Dynasty, the young emperor's power was
suppressed by an evil regent as traitorous eunuchs plunged the court into
chaos. The Han bloodline weakened, and the land was split amongst the strong.
It was a chaotic era when bones filled the fields and fires were seen for
thousands of miles. From the flames emerged the brilliant Cao Cao, the
warm-hearted Liu Bei, the wise Sun Quan, the powerful Lü Bu and the
tyrant Dong Zhuo. From beginnings both low and high, these men rose to power
in the third century to compete for the prize: the throne of China.
From the pages of history begins a century of war. The battle, one sure to
split the sky and break the earth, is now unstoppable...

“Chao suspected Xu Chu to be the strongest man in the army, so he raised
his whip and said, 'I heard that there was a tiger marquis in your army. Where
is he?' Xu Chu took up his blade and yelled, 'I am Xu Chu from Qiao County!'
His eyes glared with a powerful light.”

Xu Chu was born at the end of the Han Dynasty in a kingdom called Qiao. He
was eight Chinese feet tall and had a very broad waist; the image of the
typical strongman. Before joining Cao Cao, Xu gathered locals to defend
against the Yellow Turbans.
When food supplies in the city ran out, Xu pretended to negotiate with the
enemy to exchange food for cows. When the Yellow Turbans were about to take
the cows, the herd went mad and began to stampede. Xu charged forward and
grabbed one of the steers by the tail and dragged it back more than a hundred
steps. When the Yellow Turbans saw how strong he was, they left the cows and
fled. From then on, all the people in Chunan and Chenliang feared and
respected Xu Chu. Upon learning of his bravery, Cao Cao recruited Xu Chu as
his bodyguard.
When Xu Chu followed Cao Cao and fought against Ma Chao at Tong Keep, the
warlord dubbed him his “tiger lord.” After fighting with Ma Chao for
a whole day, he finally won. From then on, the soldiers in the army began to
call him “Tiger Fool.”
In addition to his victories on the battlefield, Xu Chu was a skilled
bodyguard. He thwarted many attempts on Cao Cao's life while the warlord
slept, enabling Cao Cao to keep his focus on administering the Kingdom of Wei.
He was an amazing general who always stood by Cao Cao.
