Fighting game for MS-DOS
FROM THE PAGES OF HISTORY BEGINS A CENTURY OF WAR.
In the days of China's Eastern Han Dynasty, the young emperor's power was
suppressed by an evil regent as traitorous eunuchs plunged the court into
chaos. The Han bloodline weakened, and the land was split amongst the strong.
It was a chaotic era when bones filled the fields and fires were seen for
thousands of miles. From the flames emerged the brilliant Cao Cao, the
warm-hearted Liu Bei, the wise Sun Quan, the powerful Lü Bu and the
tyrant Dong Zhuo. From beginnings both low and high, these men rose to power
in the third century to compete for the prize: the throne of China.
From the pages of history begins a century of war. The battle, one sure to
split the sky and break the earth, is now unstoppable...

DIAN WEI |

“Dian Wei grew up in Jiwu, an area now located in Ningling County, Henan.
Known as a hulking giant of a man, he was reliable and chivalrous. His weapons
of choice were dual crescent spears and long blades. Enemy camps would gossip
secretly about the legendary warrior said to wield 50-pound spears.”

Like Xu Chu, Dian Wei was one of Cao Cao's bodyguards. He was known for his
tremendous size and powerful arms. Even as a youth, he was powerful enough to
assassinate the rival Li Yong of Suiyang and his wife. None of the hundreds of
men dispatched to capture him dared to draw too close due to Dian Wei's
intimidating size.
Dian Wei was a close aide to Cao Cao. When the warlord attacked Jing Province,
its ruler Zhang Xiu surrendered in Wan County. Cao Cao was elated by the
bloodless victory and asked Zhang Xiu to attend a banquet with his men.
Whenever Cao Cao asked someone to drink with him, Dian Wei would stand behind
him, glaring angrily with his axe at the ready. Neither Zhang Xiu nor his men
dared lift their heads to meet Dian Wei's gaze.
Two weeks later, Zhang Xiu rebelled and attacked Cao Cao's camp. Cao Cao
escaped with several soldiers while Dian Wei remained in the camp to secure
their escape. The rebels divided their forces and flanked the great warrior,
forcing Dian Wei and ten brave men to fight to their deaths. The warriors cut
down ten or more rebels with each blow, but the men fell one by one. Soon,
Dian Wei was severely outnumbered and wounded. He fought on, killing several
more rebels in close combat, but his wounds were too severe and he soon fell.
Even as he died, he continued glaring at and cursing the rebels.
Cao Cao was saddened by the news of Dian Wei's death. He assembled a team of
brave warriors to go reclaim Dian Wei's body and arranged a proper funeral.
The warlord attended the wake in person and arranged for the hero's burial in
Xiang City.
