THE FATE OF THE HAN DYNASTY IS IN YOUR HANDS!

In the final years of the Eastern Han Dynasty, under the reign of Emperor Ling, ten eunuchs in the imperial palace abused their power. The country was in a dreadful state of affairs; bandits began an uprising, and the people were in turmoil.

The emperor asked the lords of the land to crush the rebellion, but this only resulted in a race for power. After Dong Zhuo usurped the throne only to be quickly defeated, civil war erupted.

Finally, it was Cao Cao who took control of the emperor, commanding the lords in his name. After years of harsh fighting, Cao Cao united the north and prepared to conquer the south in an attempt to unite all of China.

Liu Bei, the fate of the Han Dynasty is in your hands! Will you linger in fear, waiting for death to find you? Or will you take a stand against the evil forces of Cao Cao? Don't hesitate; take your five tiger generals and rush to destroy the enemy!

In the novel “Romance of the Three Kingdoms,” Zhang Fei is portrayed as a strong but reckless general, but according to historical recordings he was not only powerful but as skilled as Guan Yu in leading troops. He was also talented at calligraphy, with his “Ba Meng Mountain style” being an often copied form of calligraphers in training. One of Guan Yu's statements was very clear in defining Zhang Fei's nature: “My brother Zhang Fei can claim the head of a general in an army of millions as easily as if he were removing it from a bag.” It was this statement that kept Cao Cao alert about Zhang Fei.

When Cao Cao pursued Liu Bei across the Changban bridge, Liu Bei's army was less than one-tenth the size of Cao Cao's. As everyone panicked and attempted escape, Zhang Fei ordered his soldiers to bind branches behind their horses' tails. When the dust kicked up, it looked as if a huge army was traveling in a defensive formation. Cao Cao was led to believe there was an ambush. As he was deciding whether or not to continue his pursuit, Zhang Fei appeared, alone, and stood at the end of the bridge. He shouted to Cao Cao's army, “Zhang Fei is here, who dares come forth for a death match?” No one came forth to answer the fight. Cao Cao's sub-general, Xiahou Jie, was frightened to death by the roaring shout, and upon seeing this, the morale of Cao Cao's entire army was crushed, causing them to turn and flee. Unaware of the true size of Liu Bei's army, and faced with decreasing morale, Cao Cao abandoned his plans of pursut. This gave Liu Bei's army a chance to rest and regroup.

However, Zhang Fei liked to drink. When he heard that Guan Yu was killed by Sun Quan, he became extremely depressed and drank every day. Once he was drunk, he began hitting his soldiers to unleash his rage. Eventually, two of his soldiers, Fan Jiang and Zhang Da, could no longer take this treatment, so they assassinated Zhang Fei while he slept, and escaped to the Kingdom of Wu, keeping his head for a trophy.

Losing both of his greatest generals in such a short period of time crushed Liu Bei's plans to return the House of Han to great power. Not only that, but the three were sworn brothers who had been together for a long time. Liu Bei ignored Zhuge Liang's advice and abandoned his plans against Cao Cao. Instead, he turned his sword against Sun Quan and the Kingdom of Wu. However, he lost this battle to a young general named Lu Xun, and passed away.

The three sworn brothers – Guan Yu, Zhang Fei and Liu Bei – are still fondly remembered today for their kinship.
